The Alberta Ombudsman and Public Interest Commissioner’s offices will be taking time this September 30, 2021, to reflect on the tragic history of residential schools and all those affected.
Marianne Ryan, the Alberta Ombudsman and Public Interest Commissioner will be closing her offices on September 30th in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Her staff will be encouraged to commemorate the day and reflect on how the offices may continually improve services for Indigenous people.

While the office will be closed, Albertans wishing to submit a complaint of unfair treatment while accessing a public service may do so at any time through the Alberta Ombudsman’s online complaint form found at www.ombudsman.ab.ca.
Similarly, public sector employees looking for advice on how to submit a complaint of wrongdoing or a complaint of reprisal can visit the Public Interest Commissioner’s website at www.yourvoiceprotected.ca.
