EDMONTON – Peter Hourihan, Alberta’s Ombudsman, and a team of investigators will visit Canmore and High River later this month.
“We want to ensure Albertans are able to learn more about how our office works, and have direct, face-to-face access with our investigators,” said Hourihan. “Reaching out directly to Albertans in communities outside Edmonton and Calgary is one of the most effective ways to improve understanding of fair treatment.”
Residents of Canmore, High River and surrounding communities are invited to attend presentations by the Ombudsman. They can also book an appointment with an investigator to discuss how they may have been treated unfairly by an Alberta government department, agency, board, commission, designated professional organization, or the patient concerns resolution process of Alberta Health Services. The Alberta Ombudsman also has jurisdiction over complaints regarding appeals related to the province’s Disaster Recovery Program.

Monday, June 22
Canmore Civic Centre

Investigator appointments (FCSS offices): 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Public presentation (Council chambers): 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Tuesday, June 23
High River Library, Studio B
1225 – 1st Street SE
Investigator appointments: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Public presentation: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
